Five little words can change everything, and for me, those were the five that changed things for me!
First, you have to know me to totally understand the story. I am quiet, super shy in certain situations, and definitely NOT a rule breaker! I'm easily embarrassed and blush every time I am put on the spot. These are not necessarily bad qualities, but they are just a huge part of me.
In August of 2012, my family had taken a trip to Knoxville, TN to visit my cousin and to go spend the next day in Pigeon Forge at MagiQuest among other places. My cousin and I went to her school's football game that Friday night. We were walking around and she was introducing me to her friends when all of a sudden, from the middle of the bleachers came this LOUD, BOOMING voice...."Hey, you in the stripes!". There was a guy waving his arms wildly in the air and we all started looking around. Looking down I noticed I was wearing a striped sweater. I was immediately embarrassed and waved back slightly and we walked away. I'm pretty sure my face was a deep shade of red. In that moment, looking back, I realize that I am finally coming into my own. I was at a football game without my parents - which I loved (it's easy to feel as if you never get any freedom when you're my age) and I was hanging out with a pretty great group of new friends. Although I am excited to see where the next few years take me, I am in no hurry. I am loving life and I figured having a blog would be a great way to share everything I am up to!
A little more about me...
I am a loyal friend, hilarious when you get to know me, smart, and preppy. I love Mexican food, 80s movies, and Tom Cruise! I am 13, a Christian, finishing the 7th Grade, and I think my handwriting rocks! I love different kinds of music, from Taylor Swift and Maroon 5 to All American Rejects and Shinedown. I am NOT a "Belieber" and never have been. I live in the South and love all things southern - including my crazy-fun grandmother (I call her Gammy)! I take golf lessons, am on the Swim Team, and am looking forward to attending a Women in Engineering Camp this summer at the college I plan on attending once I graduate high school. Math is easy for me, I have awesome friends I love dearly, and one that I have known my whole life (which is hard when you live in a military town - the kids around here change every year). I have a brother and sister, and I am the oldest. As parents go, mine are pretty great. We don't always see eye-to-eye, but it always works out somehow. I love to travel and my dream trip would be to go to Italy!
I hope you follow along with me on my adventures and through all my likes, outfits, hairstyles, movie reviews, book reviews, and life in general!
Until next time - xoxo
Mackenzie
